The only reason my income dried up was because I left work to go on maternity leave (because i'm 33 weeks pregnant) and my maternity pay is being delayed. Therefore my back up savings that I did have got me through a couple of months- I was kind of hoping that my maternity pay would have been sorted by now.
If you got an upgrade in March on a £35 a month contract, then you have a pretty decent handset. Sell it on Ebay or some other place and put the SIM in your old handset. If you don't have the old one, buy one. You can pick up basic handsets for £10 easily. It won't be as flashy as the one you currently have, but you will still be able to make calls and send texts.
You aren't going to be able to get out of the contract, but this should bring in enough cash to cover a few months worth until you get your pay sorted out.0 -
I know you didn't plan on the income drying up, but in future, you should try and have back up savings that cover these sort of things.
Of course everyone should have savings hidden away but how easy is it to save at the moment? Its all relative to how much a person earns
