There's alot of people out there with similair problems to me but i have a problem with a Diplomat cooker hood model No ABA2340. I never got an instruction manual or carbon filters with it and it's hardly done any use at all.
It has a small led screen with 6 speed fan and when i switch it on it now flashes from the speed to an A. Under warranty but useless now! Anyone any ideas or contact information to get manual or help with this appliance. Would apprieciate any help. Thanks0 -
Hi,
For your ABA2340, the carbon filter is this one but they are only required if the machine is not vented to outside air. In other words, if it's not used in recirculation mode, then the filters are not required.
Generally speaking, most cooker hoods will be supplied without carbon filters as they are designed to be and, recommended to be, vented outside rather than used in recirculation mode. They are therefore not included with the hood from new to reduce the cost quite simply and it's expected that, if you want to recirc the air, you'll stump up for the filters.
For your fault, it sounds like the fan control PCB or, possibly, the fan motor itself has gone faulty. The speed control PCB is about £70 or so plus VAT and the motor about £80 or so plus VAT.
The hood was made by Fox hoods in Italy for MFI and, so far as I am aware there are no alternative spares.
There are no manuals listed although, I expect that if you are looking for a meaning for the fault in it, you'd be disappointed as they usually don't list them. Put it this way, there is no technical documentation on that hood at all and no manual listed so I'd say you've got no chance of getting one unless someone can give you a copy.
