!!!!!! Eon!!
Got my bill this morning - great stuff - all as expected and still £250 in credit.
Around 4 months ago - Eon automaticly wanted out DD to go from £100PM to somethin like £180PM - even though all the way through winter we had been in credit...
Anyway spoke to somebody on the phone and arrange to the DD's to be £70PM to build up credit for next winter but to lessen the amount of credit on the account...
Today - I read the bill and they want to REDUCE my DD to £10PM - how is that going to sustain my credit with my current usage.... are they now using a new tactic of getting people into debt with them so they cant move without having to pay a large lump sum?!
Yet another call needed later!

I tried to - but that would only increase it to £19 - they dont allow you to enter a custom value
Just fired off an email - let's see if I get any joy out of that - otherwise i will hunt down a normal non 0845 number and call them free of my mobile later!0 -
Hiya SplanK - I reckon that if EON want to strangle off their own cash flow, you should let them. Stick the £60 into a savings account to await the day they realise they have screwed up and send you a Debit bill0

I had exactly the same experience. My DD was £55 and in March they told me they wanted to reduce it to £23 - despite being only slightly in credit. I rang them and was told my 'annual review' would be in June. So I accepted, but when the June bill arrived they only wanted to increase it to £39 (my true usage at current prices pan out at £50 a month) - plus they insisted on a refund of £12!!
I rang them and was told they could only adjust it 10% up or down. When I said their calculations were wrong & started quoting my annual kwh etc, they quickly accepted my figure of £50/month.
All in all, Eon are good in that they review accounts annually and are keen not to allow customers run up big credits. Where they fall down is in their method of calculation - which is so far out that would only result in a nasty surprise at the next annual review.0 -
Hi Splank,
I am sorry you have had this trouble with your Direct Debit payments it does sound like the payments have been lowered to reduce some of the credit.
I completely understand that you would want to keep your payments as they are to see your through winter comfortably.
Contact E.ON and get the payments set at the amount that you want, I see you have sent an email, hope this gets it sorted for you.

Thanks - just got your PM as well - I will give it 48hrs for somebody to reply to it, but if no joy then I will drop you an email as per PMHiya SplanK - I reckon that if EON want to strangle off their own cash flow, you should let them. Actualy - that isnt a bad idea - however just meens a bit more hastle for very little gain (in the current climate anyway!) - if interest was high enough then maybe... although not sure how it would effect any discount offers for people who pay via DD0 -

well i got a responce from Eon on Friday just gone whilst i was down in sunny stratford - they left a message on my answerphone to say they will only increase my DD to £43pm!! !!!!!! - im giving them the green light to take £70pm.... fools
so im just going to stick the difference into a savings account - just annoying that I will have to keep track of that in there so i dont end up spending it on a new bathroom or kitchen!0 -
Hi SplanK,
E.ON will have calculated your payments on your average daily consumption.
The £43 payments per month, should build up some credit over the summer months to cover your larger winter bills.
The payment amount can only be calculated accurately, if bills have been charged to correct meter readings.
We would try not to hold too much credit or let accounts fall in to debit.
If you feel that this is incorrect or you want the payments to be more, ring E.ON and ask for this to be done for you.
