I dont want to start a new thread so I hope you dont mind Giggle that I hijack yours.

My 4yr old soon to be 5 has this weekend asked if he can have a halloween party. I cant see a problem since he has given me plenty of time to get organised. We have sat down this weekend and brainstormed about food decorations and stuff and there is one thing we cant solve.....
With the light on the hall looks pretty drab. If we got the light switched off I know there is a fairy light going around the room in green and red but that's not gonna be enough light for us to see doing games and stuff
I would have liked to have the light switched off as much as possible but I cant think of a way to give some light in the room without renting a disco

So far we got a orange/black theme going. Balloons, crepe decoration on the wall, black table cloth, white plates with orange or black napkins.
We gonna have a large carved pumpkin at the door as they come in.....
Branches in a vase with ghosts hanging in them.
I'm waiting to receive a couple of books from the library to give us more ideas

Have you tried a coloured bulb? they can really change the way a room looks.
http://www.teezelle.co.uk/ will give you an idea though they are expensive.

Thanks but both ideas are impossible. The ceiling is too high up to change any lights and there is no where at all to put candles (besides floor or table which is a no no). This room got no windows just straight bare white walls.
If I can perhaps find a cheep up lighter and a light bulb for it...but I got no way to actually try it out until the day we got the party.

I really like this idea. Unless I can find a use of the orange I scoop out it could be a bit wasteful to make 20 of them for all his classmates but I will definitively make them for my 3 boys this year.:D
