in Credit cards
After taking the best part of two and a half months so get the HSBC credit card, along with three credit reductions along the way (from £6.5k to £5.5k to £2k) the muppets have decided, for a laugh, to transfer the whole limit to somebody elses card
What a shambles, well Iv'e asked them to recall the transfer and once done will cancel this card, I feel like Iv'e wasted part of my life dealing with these clowns. I guess I will take the credit search hit and chalk it down to experience and never, ever, ever deal with this bunch of arrogant charlatans again.

Is the credit card at 0%?
Do what Martin suggests and get some revenge.Turn it arround and use the card to your advantage as you said you have lost a credit check against your score for this card.
If it is at 0% get one the phone and get the limit back upto £6500 and sting them some more.
Good luck0 -
HSBC is among the worst of the cc companies. I was asked to tke bills to confirm my id at a local branch but the personal banker (!) couldnt locate my details and has to do a new application. Offered me a credit limit of £500 (less than 1/10th of my lowest limit on any card I ever had) and then increased to £5000 as I told her i dont want the card with such a low limit. I tried to set up direct debit for minimum balane and I was told that it could only be done if I have a HSBC current account. I only applied for the card for stoozing and will never apply for anything else till they improve their customer service.

Siva, you may wish to reconsider setting up the DD. I posted this the other day on another thread and have since found out that this has been going on since January with dozens of card holders :-
After my application taking two months nearly to complete back in December I finally got my card and compensation from them after complaining.
Today I had reason to use their complaints procedure again. Why ?
My first payment to the card was due 02/04/06 and today a late payment fee of £20 was charged to the account as a payment had not been made. Deserved you say, but not in my case because four weeks ago I set up a DD to pay the minimum each month. I have confirmation of that in writing from them too, stating the first payment will leave by 02/04/06, but obviously they did'nt action it !!!
The £20 will be re-credited back to the account so no real harm done, but when I insisted on them putting it in writing that this will not show up on my credit report as a late payment they were rather put out and became rather defensive. I finally got my way and will be expecting a letter shortly.
I only have the account for stoozing purposes, but that won't stop me from composing another formal complaint to the CEO.

I find this very difficult to believe BUT the new sale would have boosted his/her credit card sales figure whilst helping you out with the original application would have got him nothing.0 -
Yeah, 9 months 0% on balance transfers, but its still useless - what point is there in transferring to another credit card that doesn't have a -ve balance on it? It's not like credit cards pay you an in-credit interest rate or anything. Now if I could xfer it into my current account/ISA/savings account then yeah it would be worth keeping but it seems you cant do that with credit cards, or have I missed a trick?Bokken wrote:Is the credit card at 0%?0 -
Yes, you have. You should have applied first for Egg Money credit card thatronaldmacdonald wrote:... or have I missed a trick?- pays 4% interest on in-credit balances,
- allows transfering in-credit balance to a current/savings account.
