Recommend A Letting Agent in Edinburgh?

Hi, I posted this on my local board but thought someone might see it here that wouldn't there, if that makes sense!
I am looking to move in Edinburgh, have had an absolute disaster with the letting agent we've been using for the past 6 months! Keen to avoid the same thing happening again! (RossClare Lettings - avoid them like the plague!)
I was just wondering if anyone can recommend an Edinburgh letting agent? I only seem to hear bad things! We've rented privately before and it was great, but there don't seem to be many private lets available just now.
Thanks!!

I've not been renting for 2 or 3 years but here's what I learned as a student - mostly good I have to say! A bit out of date but should be a start.
Good - Cullen property - excellent really friendly firm, Dove Davies - great but they tend to specialise more in expensive properties, hmm there was another good one but can't quite remember what it was called at the moment.
Bad - Grant management - at the time I was renting they had a really bad reputation, they bought loads of properties and expanded within a short period of time but were really disorganised taking people's rent twice one month then next month saying they hadn't paid for a few months etc and really not good at getting things fixed or repaired. They may have improved now though.
If you are looking for somewhere it's worth going to the ESPC https://www.espc.co.uk as they have almost all available properties on their website and newspaper. I would have thought the ones through the solicitors were pretty decent.0 -
its hitand miss but i found my flat through a private landlord on gumtree - they are great! it saved me the credit checks, i pay my rent by standing order every month and have no problems! they tend to be a bit cheaper than agencies#113 12K in 2020 Challenge #113 £17,103/£12,000 £150000

Thanks for the replies.
Have been checking gumtree, nothing for us, but a couple of friends have found great flats on there.
Thanks for recommending Dove Davies - we've seen a place with them so it's good to know they are decent! Have also heard from a lot of friends that Grant Management are awful. I had a bad experience with Cullen - it was our first rented flat, they knew this and tried to get us to pay for the damage done by the previous tenants!
Only problem now is that there is NOWHERE going to rent in the area we want to live in!0 -
I can also recommend Dovie Davies, we've been using them for over a year now and had no problems at all. What kind of flat/area are you looking for and I'll let you know if I see or hear of anything suitable that becomes available.0
