What a blow - steering wheel knob system broken

Well I had a Brian Page steering wheel knob system fitted to my car in 1997 and it has worked wonderfully - until recently! Having problems getting the indicators to work which is dangerous and sometimes the horn would work when using the indicator switch!
I tried contacting Brian Page systems by email a few times last week to ask for advice and this morning received an email:
Anyway I contacted the people who fitted the system - they have new systems now, another company, and are very different. They were very helpful and said they knew a few ex brian page employers who could recondition my system but did not know how much this would cost.
If I wanted a new system, the cost is £990.
I think I am going to have mine repaired and hope it doesn't cost hundreds! The only thing is that it will be sent away and will take about a week. I shall now have to arrange for someone to take me to the services with my broken system as I can't drive without it!
I just thought this information would be useful to others who have a Brian Page system on their vehicles.

Shortly followed by another emailWe retired last September after 30 years of business. Your best idea would be to talk to who ever fitted your infra-red to ask if they can help. We have not manufactured this device since 2003 when a major fire destroyed our premises, so it may be difficult to get in repaired. New versions are available but we do not have any details.
I couldn't believe it, and I felt terrible that this man had passed away this morning!Further to my previous reply, Mr Page passed away this morning.
