Double glazing quote seems very high, am I right?

Just got a quote from CR Smith double glazing for 4 fully reversable windows made from toughened glass (to comply with H+S regulations). Quote came in at £3563 plus £145 for planning and £200 survey registration fee.
Seems a bit high, I was looking more at the £2000 mark plus planning etc on top. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

To give a bit more info, the windows are as follows:
2 x 1200x1950 Reversible with fixed pane, toughened glass
1 x 1050x1950 Reversible with PVCu infill at bottom, toughened glass
1 x 950x2000 Reversible with fixed pane, toughened glass0 -
I don't know anything about reversible windows, but my initial thoughts are that they are bloody big windows! I would generally say £2k for 4 windows is a pretty good rule of thumb, but those are so big I would imagine they are outside the "rule of thumb" kind of levels.0

I would agree with you on both counts - That's an expensive quote and your estimate is closer to the mark.
Although they are big windows i wouldn't pay £900 each for them!
Time to get some more quotes!0 -
i think the quote is a little high but i would not say outrageous. Try a little bartering like getting them to pay for planning and survey and perhaps 10% discount on windows. You never know weve all been there where were too busy so we just put in a silly quote and if we get the job happy days if not never mind!!!!!!
Finally if you get 3 more quotes i'll wager that one will be higher
