Hi , i hope this is the right forum for seeking advice for what i shoud do about my ford transit van!
My van broke down last october ...i took it to a local garage and left it with them, a few days later they rang me to tell me they had put a new turbo in it , at a cost of £1300 but the van was still not working and they needed to take the head off and have a look.
(does £1300 sound like a lot of work to do before informing me?)
Anyway they took the head off , and now say it needs a new engine and they are looking for one , this has been the situation now for 8ish months.
Does anyone know what rights i have to get my van back in the same state i gave it to them?
i know nothing about engines etc ...
an im starting to think that they just want me to walk away from it so they can keep it for them selfs !
Any advice
Thanks

1) It depends what you said to them. If you told them to fix it and didnt mention cost etc then maybe its a bit unreasonable of them but your mistake
2) It seems ridicolously wrong. Ask for the Van back now and pay your bill to date although beware as you authorised taking it apart they may charge to put it back together.0
