...Games aint a danger to kids, i been playing them when i was under 18, done me no harm. . ...
It not the game, but the gamer. My make found a few years ago my friends young son playing against a 40 year old whom appeared to be naked (top up - at least) and had a web cam on himself. I wonder if his son would have won if the old guy would have wanted to 'meet up' and get some tips
My friend banned the ip in the router.0 -

Newschool tbh.
You never gamed online unless you played quakeworld on a 14.4/28.8k
And/Or dialled up to wireplay/barrysworld
Being an LPB is far too easy, there needs to be an element of challenge involved, that you will only get if you played as a HPB/HPW.
I felt I was cheating when I got 56k V.90 and got my ping to 125 constant.
It was funny killing people and comming top of servers against foreigners (Europe had broadband years before the UK, well parts of) when they all have sub 50 ping and you have 200+. Taught me a lot about reflexes, predicting and being generally good at FPS.
That's old school online gaming
I remember those days well
Thanks for the nostaligia!!
With regards to your and Joe's view, my first post addresses it. Seemed a bit extreme from both of your original posts but I totally agree that a 6 year old shouldn't be playing GTA. That is quite ridiculous, so easily impressionable.
At the same time I wouldn't deny a 13/14 year old lad playing GTA or CS:S because he isn't 16/18+. As long as they were a sensible level headed kid of course. All things in moderation and that...0 -
"You were lucky"

I first used the internet on a 1200 baud dial-up to New York - go that was sloooowwwwChris Elvin0 -
Perverts & 18+ Gaming do not belong in same post, simple fact is, if a kid wants to walk in a school and shoot it up, he will. You don't suddenly start getting those thoughts because you played a computer game.
Wasn't there someone who got stabbed while waiting for the GTA 4 to be released, then the guy who got stabbed wanted to "finish him off" like in the game?
I don't believe in censorship, but when you see all these chavs walking aimlessly around the streets - no, I agree, a normal person wouldn't suddenly start getting those thoughts because they played a computer game, because they were taught morals by their parents.0 -
Hi,
Always go to "internet options" and set security levels on the computer that your child uses all the time. There are many child internet safety that are easy to use, and fully customizable to fit each child's age, needs and interests. Parental controls let you monitor and manage your children's Internet use in a manageable way that best suits your family needs. It restricts chat and instant messaging which are usually used by cyberbullies, predators that pretend to be their age and engage with them. It does this by recording detailed reports on internet sites visited, time and the length of the time spent on the website.0
