Dealing with Car Finance Company

does anybody have experience of dealing with Link Financial of Wales?
Our car finance was bought by them from Landrover Finance and now they are threatening court action to repossess the car even though we have paid since Au 2005 and the deal finishes in Oct 2009. We have fallen behind with the payments but we have had no communication with them apart from the 48 hour letter which was dated 1st July and arrived this morning!

Any help would be welcome!!!

You say you have paid since Aug 2005 but then say you have fallen behind.

How far in arrears are you? It must be a considerable time if your debt has been bought by a third party.

It won't take too long after you stop paying that they will expect to take the car back.

We are 3 months behind, can we do anything to stop them taking the car?

Three months is quite a time behind. You could try calling them, but I imagine they will want at least the three months you are behind plus some admin charges, which I guess you havent got or else you would have been paying it.

My finance agreement clearly states that after paying (I think) one third of the loan payments that they cannot repossess the car without a court order. I'm not exactly sure of the timeframe but it's definitely waaay before the timeframe you're talking about!
