Daily Mail Holiday-NO PETS ?

Options
Im really sorry if someone has posted this already, tried to look but couldnt see. The OH and I either go to Haggerston Castle or Seton Sands to stay at static caravans ,only way we can holiday with the dog, normally pick up a few nights in the Haven sale as we are flexible with holiday times. However to save a bit cash we have been buying the Daily Mail to save up tokens as you can use them to book a holiday where we would normally go , and for some reason I decided to read all the small print and saw that you couldnt use offer if you were taking a pet. Im more then willing to pay for my dog to stay , does anyone know a way around this ? Or will I just have to pay the usual £300 odd pounds for 5 nights at haven ?

Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

  • Hi,

I would be interested to know about this also.I have noticed the sun holidays also have 'no pets' in the small print.I don't understand why as the park sites included in the offer do accept dogs.

Seems like no-one knows Donnalouise , Will probably just have to pay the full whack or wait untill the sale starts . Not really fair as I really dont ming paying for the dog , and as I said before Ive taken my dog plenty of times before so I know they are allowed

    Hi

I've taken my dog to Haggerston twice on a sun holiday. I can't remember if I phoned Haggerston direct and added him on to the booking or if i just sneaked him there :o

My friend emailed Haven regarding this (she mentioned the Daily Mail holiday offer) and they told her they would happily accept up to 2 dogs, mentioned which breeds weren't allowed on the camp and what the cost was for the dogs.

I would email whomever is the actual site and find out...if you don't ask, you don't get!
  • I booked Haggerston Castle too and emailed Breakfree Holidays asking if I could take my dog the reply I received was: "As stated in the terms and conditions of the offer: Pets are not permitted for bookings at any of the parks in this offer."
However under their terms and conditions it states: 10.1 Dogs are welcome at some Parks at an extra charge. They must be kept under control. You should check the Park or Property details at the time of Booking so that BreakFree Holidays can confirm whether or not a dog will be permitted. I've emailed them again as I know you can take dogs to this park and am awaiting their reply.

Have you noticed the private rents are really beautiful and the haven rents are pretty manky? If you are unfortunate to get a haven one (you will be allocated either dpending on how busy the park is) the pet caravans are really shocking, my sister got one for her 2 dogs in seton sands and honestly is was pretty bad, stained carpets, hair everywhere, stinking to high heaven..when they complained they were told it was because they had pets!!!.....not good enough!!!..the holiday before they booked in the 2 dogs and the private caravan they got was amazing....and they left it in the same condition!

2 members of my family are allergic to animal hair so I hope no one sneaks pets in when they have been allocated a non pet caravan!! Can I just add that a cleaned aniaml van would be ok for us but the one my sister got we would have had to go home... they would have scratched themselves to death!lol

If you phone nearer the time of your holiday and say you have dogs they will charge you the normal amount (£40 a dog is it??or was that for the 2??) and you will be allocated a caravan to suit you....good luck!!!

Not sure why anyone does the tokens anyway we did once and we were dearer!!lol

we have oct school holidays craig tara (scarey!lol) 4 nights in the apartments for £77 and March 2010 school holidays seton sands 7 nights £120...4 nights was going to be £80 odd. Thats including insurance, linen and passes...does us fine!

Anyway hope you guys have a nice holiday with your dog/s x

Just thought...when they got the amazing caravan animals were FREE (special offer)....but you still had to state you were taking them (Oct 08 holiday cost them £80)..and when they got the manky van they were charged as no offer was on (march 09)
Maybe thats something to do with it???
You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
    You just keep on walking
