Old Baxi boiler part

I've just been told by an independent engineer that our old Baxi WM51 3/RS needs a new gas valve and he isn't sure he can get one.
That makes me start to wonder about his advice ? So should one be available - and if so - does anyone know a decent engineer in the Ashford Kent Area.
