Boot won't open - will car fail MOT

Hi,
I have Peugeot 206 and the boot has been a bit funny, won't open, I have my MOT coming up in the next few weeks and I'm wondering if this is going to make me fail???

Yes they need to be able to check for corrosion etc and of course the spare tyre if fitted for wear etc.

Never had my spare tyre checked on any MOT.

It will still pass an mot if it's not legal but it is supposed to be checked and marked as an advisary if its not legal !

Tyres fitted to the road wheels only. The vehicle presenter should be informed when it is noticed that there is a defective tyre on a spare wheel.

Well my spare is under the boot floor mat, it has never been lifted during numerous MOT's.

Ok so nothing around boot needs to be checked?
I haven't got a spare wheel - as I understand it isn't a legal requirement but if you have one in they check it and if it fails you fail your MOT?
Cause my boot doesn't have a key lock it is opened by the fob.

Just called Peugeot, they said I will fail are they just trying to make some money?

It will fail as they need to inspect the floor pan etc for corrosion etc

How unreal is this!! I just phoned Peugeot and they said it will fail and I must bring the car in asap to get it checked...then I phoned where we normally get the MOT done which does MOT's and repairs for all cars and they said straight off no it won't its just other doors that have to open.

I explained earlier, they need access to be able to check for corrosion and shock absorber mountings etc
If a spare is there it is supposed to be checked but does not have to be legal as its only an advisary
Please note the requirments for taking a car for MOT ........

Access to the boot/tailgate/load space (if a van) & a near empty loading space to allow for floor inspections

Go for it - and I hope VOSA don't catch them out!
