does bankruptcy stop all of the calls?

I was chased throughout a large chunk of my bankruptcy by Wescott on behalf of O2. It finally stopped, then in May/June they started again - but this time the debt had been passed to Buchanan Clarke & Wells, even though I am now discharged  O2 are renowned for being complete so-and-so's and thinking the rules don't apply to them. I sent a copy of my bankruptcy notice and discharge certificate to O2, then sent another one to BC&W and not heard from them in just over a week so fingers crossed.
Apart from O2,so far so good, but I need to do my credit file soon and not looking forward to that ....

No,definitely not.Im my case the creditors used to send me letters claiming that they would send me default notices but this is (sorry for my french) loads of crap.As long as you become bankrupt and you have the legal paperwork from High Court no one can bother you with default notices, debt collection agences or bailiffs. If you get any letter from them you may (but you don't have to) inform them that you've become a bankrupt but the best option is to notify your OR and he or she will notify any potential troublemakers so they have to leave you alone....Simple as that:beer::jthegoodlife wrote: »Just wondering if some companies still carry on with debt collection after bankrutcy just to make your life a misery! Or does it all stop?

If someone keeps calling you after they've been notified of your bankruptcy and provided with all of the relevant details, then you can make a complaint to the police about them on the grounds of:
Extortion - ie demanding payment from you to which they are not entitled
Protection from Harrassment Act0
