New York - Cheap flight & Hotel

Hi, I'm looking to book for 2 to go to New York for 5 days at the end of November, would like to fly with BA or Virgin, are there any ways of getting money off or cheap flights from these companies? They are currently around the £300-£350 mark on the websites.

Also looking for a central reasonably priced hotel, got my eye on Comfort Inn Manhattan or Red Roof Inn Manhattan. Does anyone know any ways of getting cheaper prices than on their own sites? currently around £750-£850 per room for the 5 day stay.

As a student, any saving would be great!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi lil P
Have a good shop around............ebookers,expedia,airline network and also sidestep.com are always good to look at. We have flown with Continental a few times and have been very happy. My wife and I normally stay at the Best Western President Hotel just off Times Square. Book on the BW website and you only have to pay the first night.........you then pay for your stay at the end of your holiday.
Have a look on Frommers.com it's a travel based website offering loads of help and advice, if you look at Travel Talk you will find lot's of folk willing to offer help.
Book your flights early as prices tend to go up the later you leave it !!! David

£300-£350 for November is grossly overpriced, in my opinion! For example, 23-28 November with American Airlines from Heathrow to JFK is £255 including tax on their website.
  • Thanks guys, thats really helpful! Its such a jungle out there, will get right on to it!

Just found out I have been invited to a wedding in October this year in New York. Can you get cheaper flghts then or is above advice still valid? btw am disabled so aware carriers can make the difference in terms of ease of passasge. As with lil P money's tight here too.....Is it possible to make discounted deals with companies for two flights as oposed to one or is that just misguided and wishful thinking?

I have just returned from a 5 day holiday in New York, which cost £363 for flight & hotel. Flying with Kuwait Airways (excellent) and staying on 47th Street, Broadway. I booked flight through lastminute.com and hotel through Octopus travel about four months ago.
