  • I was going to suggest the same as Sally. There are loads of 28 inch CRT televisions being literally chucked away at the moment because everyone is upgrading to fancy pants flat screen ones. Someone had one out at their front gate yesterday with a note saying £20 on it when I drove past yesterday.

Remember my £2 odd ebay bargain just before christmas because OH dropped mine and wanted me to claim on my insurance and I refused? :rotfl:

I still have the same tv, portable CRT, I brought with my first pay packet in 2002 :rotfl:

I remember my grandparents having a radio rental box on the wall behind the telly....don't think I ever really quite understood what it was for though.

DH treated himself to a 32" flat screen tv about 18 months ago with an unexpected bonus.....typically, the week after that the hoover, the washing machine and the microwave all died....law of sod at it's most evil. (I say treated himself as I was more than happy that the old one worked, even if the picture was pink and slanted to the left - it was about 16 years old though so had fullfilled it's destiny)

Going to pick some usb heated pink fluffy slipper boots, up from freecycle in a bit, brand new still in their box, DD2 was desperate for some last xmas and being the evil parent I am, I refused to spend £15 on them....but free? I like free :D
