Monday 6th July - What small DFW things have you done today?!

Morning
 It's Monday again - me and DS overslept again. It is starting to get a bit of a habit that we sleep in on a Monday. I guess we are both knackered from the weekend. It's weird!
Luckily I was up reasonable as the jobcentre phoned at 10 about my ESA claim. Turns out I don't have to go in for an interview now as I am in the support group. So that's one thing less to worry about
Its *so* confusing. Hopefully it is sorted now though.
Plan for today is -
1/online banking - done and yes i'm skint
2/scratchies - done
3/work hours
4/cleaning list
5/start looking at odd job list and actually do something
6/try and get ahead as having nephew round tomo so won't b able get much done
7/lunch and tea from stores
8/finish ironing - OH did loads yesterday but still a bit more to do
9/deal with any post
Think that is enough for today. I need to catch up with things again so I can get ebaying. I must get some things on ebay this week. Please keep nagging me about this!
Hope everyone is having a good day so far. Thanks for starting the thread!!

Morning all,
Have delayed writing my list today
having a day where i feel weighed down by debts (yes I know they are small now compared to most people on here but they just seem never ending).
I know deep down that small changes work but started the £10 a day challenge and had a poor weekend on ebay and also someone offered to pay me for a favour on Sat and now get a sneaky suspicion now they won't (took me 2 hours and 30miles to drive). Grrrr  Also gone onto weekly pay and now very confused as to what I should be earning, was very low to what I was expecting but can't get a straight answer as to what it should have been!! Websites don't allow for switching mid tax year!
I'm even annoying myself today - snap out of it!!!
T in the Park on Thurs if tickets come thru so I really should quit complaining!!
So today:- Post ebay parcel
- lunch in tupperware
- tea from freezer turkey steaks to go in fajitas (very nearly used everything up!) :T
- Bargains from Wilkos for T in the park - wetwipes essential!
- Scratchies 25p won :j
- Internet banking - shuffle, shuffle, juggle, juggle
- Work on impressive present ideas for twin
- Personal training session for OH's sister
- Cheer up!

- brought in packed lunch, will forage for supper.
- Must do on-line banking, Popeye has given me his figures for next month, so I shall try and work out what to pay and when.

Hi All :hello:
Well I got a bit of a shock at the weekend. I currently have my car on hire purchase (never put it on my debt target in my sig though as I thought I will prob always have a car loan coz I might never be able to buy one upfront, so my parents have always told me to think of it as a mortgage) BUT they have sent me a statement as they now have to and it turns out the interest rate which I thought was about 6% is actually 15.4%! This means that the £4804.52 that I took out to buy my car (which I may have also thought included the interest, can't remember now) actually adds up to £6733.72 over the four years I took out the loan! I am so annoyed because I didn't realise it was as much as this! As my car loan payments only finish 6 months before my personal loan payments, i'm guessing it's best to focus on paying my car off first? I have £4146.70 at 15.4% left on my car and just over £6000 at 7.5% or 7.9% (can't remember which) left on my personal loan. Am I right in thinking this is the right way to do it?
Also, can anyone tell me if it's worth having my student loan debt in my target, as I don't earn enough yet to start paying it and I heard the interest rate is going down to zero?
Today:
Online banking
Drive economically
Free scratch - 10p
Check emails
Check on rightmove
Do some washing

Hello All,
Is it ok for me to join in this thread? I have not posted on the DFW board before, as I suppose I had my head in the sand for too many years but this weekend I guess I had my LBM ....what's scared me the most to be honest is the feeling that I am not in control of my finances ....then I found this thread and it makes me feel that there is something that I can do, and that I am not alone.
So if it's ok for me to join in, my small dfw things I am doing today are:
Read up on ebaying and how to do it. Compare it to Amazon and Green Metropolis for selling of books.
Carry on decluttering house of stuff!
Update my CV ready for seeking work.
I think this will be enough for today, as the decluttering will take simply ages

January 2025 NSD: 0/30 (unplanned spending)

Yikes, that is some mark up - I'm sure someone more savvy with numbers will help, but at 15.4% if might be worth paying this off first. Are you allowed to overpay on a car loan?
Toriajw - hope the interview went well!
My day didn't start off very dfw-like as I had to drive to work after turning up at the train station to find the service had been suspended! Two of my colleagues went out for sandwiches and offered to bring me something back, so I am quite pleased that I resisted...
otherwise I have/will;
1. checked bank account
2. Printed out a bunch of money off coupons
3. Had more leftovers for lunch
4. Will go to bed early tonight -still "jetlagged" from the weekend!
5. Have decluttered a bag of stuff for the charity shop - must remember to drop that off
See you all tomorrow!Overpay!0 -
Hi poorbutrich
I think you can, my Dad said you can overpay on it so it will be worth me calling and finding out.0 -
Hi everyone, I have a migrane, so depending on when it shifts, I will hopefully do the following
- finish tidying up from last night
- photograph for ebay (I still not done it and need a kick up the rear end now)
- tidy up some financial paperwork
That will be it for today as I am feeling pants.0
