  • It's misleading the fact that they're calling it a speed camera detector and my understanding is that it doesn't detect anything.

It contains a database of the last known location of all fixed spped cameras and uses GPS (similar to satnav) to track you relative position to the camera co-ordinates. Sounds like a complete waste of money given how cheap some satnav systems are becoming (sorry!)

OK, so it should be called a Safety Camera Detector, for the politically correct.

It does know the position of all known UK fixed safety cameras, and can be updated via the internet.

Not a waste of money, as it will save you at least £60 every time you do not get caught driving too fast.

    But is it 20MPH, 30MPH, 40MPH, 50MPH, 60MPH, 70MPH ?

Which is exactly the problem most people are not sure of, and has nothing to do with deliberately exceeding speed limits.

Looking at your speedometer instead of the road ahead is improving safety ?

    I think not :D

I have no problem knowing the speed limits and there a big 20mph sign a few yards for my house but a large proportion of drivers deliberatively ignore this even though there's too schools down the street. I have nowt but contempt for drivers who deliberately risk other drivers/pedestrians and for what so they can get from a-b quicker. Well if anything driving in getting slower so when there's a opportunity to get your foot down some unfortunately do.

The only lesson some people learn is a driving ban, its as simply as that.

I choose to drive at a speed that is safe for the conditions,

At 3am, how many children are going to lose their lives by a motorist driving safely but a bit over the limit ?

    PS Poppycat..
