Can you recommend a travel insurance?

My daughter is leaving tomorrow to travel around Europe. I was going to buy insurance with STA which have a very neat site. However, I have read bad reviews from people who've actually had to claim (which is when your insurance matters)... I have used the tools provided here and it shows "travelinsurance-uk" to be good value. But again, that is not all since I'd rather pay a few pounds more to be sure if we HAD a claim it would be honoured. Can anybody recommend an insurance from their own experience?
Thanks a lot.

Any of the Policies underwritten and administered by Fortis are good, they offer products through the Post Office (Their current adverts mention they have won a Travel Insurance Award) or through a lot of local brokers (There are other providers who offer Fortis Policies).

I would recommend you avoid any policy that is either underwritten by Axa or administered by Axa.
(You can find who underwrites and / or adminsters the policy by clicking on the policy wording and it tells you in the first few pages)0 -
Thanks Dacouch! Will research that! I had no clue about the role of the underwritters!0
