sorry about earlier reply computer had problem.
    re kitchen
firstly 7k cant just be for carcasses.
Any kitchen quote depends on style of work surfaces, appliances, door style etc, also is their any tiling, electric, plumbing or gas work (other than repalacing like for like)

A big question is does it include fitting, if it does dont get sucked into paying wickes price for fitting. they could charge 2-3k for fitting. 22 units is a fair size and obviously impossible to quote without a brief but ive been fitting for years now and very roughly you should expect to pay 1000 to 1500. Don't whatever you do use "fred or jim" who can fit it for 600. They most certainly are a) not insured and b) not certified re gas/elec etc.

Also re fitting, if the carcasses are not ridged(ready made) and are flat packed the fitting quote quite clearly will be higher (obviously)perhaps 3- 500 more. although they are easy to put together so you could DIY just remember the fitter will want them all ready for when he arrives. 22 carcasses and appliances takes up alot of space believe me!!!!!

Also dont get tricked into using howdens or kitchens direct etc etc their salespeople work on commision and they are basically double glazing salesman. theyll quote 60% discount if you are a showhouse etc but list price is ridiculous and its all a con. quote will start off at 10k but amazingly they will drop it down to 6k because of special offer etc.

Finally you don't have to buy your appliances from wickes bnq etc. they are all v v expensive, use internet or trade supplier instead. Most things are standard size so dont believe line "only whirlpool/hotpoint will fit etc etc. (but obviously check!!!!!!)
    Anyway hope this helps
    Richard
