Forgot to add - pay off all your charges to bring your account into good order. Keep an eye on things as you may have to pay more than you initially think.
Once your account is in the black, and the standing orders and 'no fee' status of the account are sorted, you can consider claiming back the £12 charges if you so wish.0 -

On what grounds should he claim these fees back? He has taken out a loan at a lower rate as a result of the fee; he has undoubtedly benefited from said fee. What would William Shatner do?0 -
Personally I agree - if I were to screw up and incur charges I would accept it.
Apparently other people opt to claim back any and all charges they incur... I was pointing out to the OP that there are options. It is entirely up to the OP to pursue a claim, however spurious or credible.
ktez wrote "I now have to pay £12 every month and I have incurred charges as the 1st month my standing order went in a day after the loan was due to come out of my account and it's just spiralled now where I am paying charges each month" - I was referring to these charges, not the £12 pm for a premium a/c0 -
I will not pursue a refund of charges however I think the charges on this occasion are a tad excessive. All in all it will have cost me £90 for the standing order from my new account being set up a day too late. Although I know most people will say it's my doing and here is a 20p piece, go give someone a call who gives a damn :rotfl:0
