Hey
You may remember me asking about some help for a disabled friend of mine
Well, he has contacted CCCS and they have suggested a debt relief order, which he think sounds FAB:j
Just one question he forgot to ask them; he knows his name will go on an insolvency register BUT, will his name be printed in the newspaper like it is for bankrupsy?
Anyone know?
Also, he has a basic bank account with Natwest; I assume he can keep this?
Thanks

No.
Link: Will my DRO be advertised?
Answer Details of your DRO will be put on the Electronic Individual Insolvency Register on our website: www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/ .
These details will be removed 3 months after your DRO has ended.
DROs are not advertised in your local paper or in the London Gazette.

More likely than not that Natwest will close the account.
So best to open a basic Co-op Cashminder or Barclays Cash Card account instead. Those two are generally OK in bankruptcy, so should be fine with a DRO as well.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
