Spammed by own e-mail address?

Started to get some strange spamming e-mails recently, usually advertising all sorts of useless medical products. My spam filter normally picks them out and dumps them elsewhere.
But interestingly, even though the name of the sender differs on each e-mail, the e-mail address of the sender (when you right click on properties) says it comes from my address. I've checked my e-mail accounts on the web and nothing is being sent that I haven't 'authorised', so I don't think it is anything to worry about.
The bit of note though is that if you try to block the senders address, your spam filter also blocks any e-mails coming legitimately from your account. So I've used other methods to block them.
Anyone else noticed spam e-mails like this apparently being sent from their own account?

Yes I get it all time too mainly comes from spam China
I never give this email address out, they have programs who go through every computation to send mass spam out
They also use peoples pcs thats why you must scan regularly as you may be used to send spam out0 -

If you follow this guys advice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEmdiFbKKmE you can pretty much combat the email spoofing. Where he puts whatever@yahoo you obviously put your chosen email domain.
Alternatively, you could add your existing email accounts to GMail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQN-gHMqx9M then use the Forwarding options within Gmail to pass your emails back to your chosen email accounts, you would take this step as gmail sorts the spam from the correct email, so it's a free and due to it experiencing lots of spam it will recognise spam emails and so will hopefully clear your accounts of spam and pass the original email back to your accounts.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0
