I am looking for a laptop, it will be used for web browsing watching films, burning cd's, msn, word, etc.

It will be in the house all the time.

I have pinned it down to a few:

6920G

8920G

8930G

I am not sure whether the 18.4 inch screen laptops will be too heavy, what do you think, i think they are 4.1 KGs

Also, which has the best processor, which is best value for money.

Which should I get?

And Acer a good brand?

Are all of these laptops Full HD?

the old saying about you telling 1 person when you get good customer service and telling 10 when you get poor is true .

(very) Long story short . My £800 Acer Laptop broke within 3 weeks of owning it (Hard drive failure) . after i sent it too Acer it took them nearly 3 weeks for them to attempt to send it back repaired (which i was not informed about as they promised) , where it was stolen somewhere between Acer repair center and my house .

Acer basically told me , that because they had a (fraudulent) signature of delivery they had no futher obligations to me . courier refused to talk to me cause i was not the Acer , Acer refused to talk to courier .

After involving the Police , i eventually got a commitment of a refund or replacement from Acer . Refund took 2 months and many phone calls ( how hard is it to send a cheque in the post ??) .

Apart from one person , the customer service line was appalling with very rude , unhelpful staff.

Just telling you my experiance of Acer . and no the computer was not in Acer's care when it was stolen ( it was their Courier , but Acer where still the customer and they refused to help ) it is your choice if you decide to buy a Acer laptop
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Four kilograms is roughly equivalent to a small desktop computer; unless you plan to leave it in one place it's going to be a little too unwieldy to be carrying around. Makes it more of a tabletop, really.

As for being full-HD, only the latter two qualify due to their 1920x1080 native resolution displays. Then again, unless you're watching something on Blu-ray, HD-DVD or HD-TV it's not really relevant, even if the screen is big enough for you to see the difference.

Have you considered any of Acer's other models? This one, for example?

I got the 8930G and its brilliant. the screen is fanatasic. the blu-ray drive is excellent and the media player panel on the side is a very useful . It cost me £700 from QVC 3 months ago and i never looked back, never had one problem.
