edited 5 July 2009 at 9:59AM in It's gone, but was it any good?
I couldnt see how to add this to the existing thread, but i would be good to see how many people will make a claim against B&Q on the dishwasher and Argonaut subjects. Please only say no if you were affected!

It is mulitipe choice, so if you were affected by both Argonaut and Zanussi select both options, if you only had one order, please only respond to what product you were affected by.

Thanks

p.s. lots going on behind the scenes........

not the B&Q end, except to say they are taking my LBA a little more seriously asking for 30 days to look into the issues andtalk to the supplier. However, I lay eggs they are stalling for time with their legal counsel.

From my end there are some irons burning. I am working on some official confirmation of what I have discovered which everyone should be able to use in their claim. I will then use the confirmation to publicise the findings and try and rekindle the Summer House claims as well as I am sure once people realise they have a valid claim, it will all rock on.

The way I see it, the longer my website is up and running it is for the good and better for all.

Great work, all is on your website to enable someone to put forward a decent case - they will have enough "ammo" to present/argue.
Without the work of yourself/taxiphil, I would have dismissed this as a "one that got away" - but there are many flaws and obviously as the "discreton" term has been thrown out once (hence should be again), I can't really see what B&Q would now rely on as the T&C's at point of sale does not allow for mistakes/errors/c0ck-ups.
They may well make the assumption that people are trying it on, but it could only ever be an assumption. Any case would have to be on the facts.

Definitely. I was surprised they didn't at least offer a voucher when they cancelled our orders. They have made no effort to come to any arrangement over this.

I was very suprised vouchers weren't offered as well - fully expected £10-£20 in vouchers as a token gesture.
Not such a bad thing though that they are not trying to resolve anything, as long as we can show we have tried. I believe a judge would need to see how much you have tried to resolve things, and together with Beckett v B&Q to refer to, and their T&C's, all looks rosy.
As long as they have inadequate T&C's they will struggle - in my opinion anyway.

thats the problem, B&Q should have appeared a bit generous and people will still be disappointed but think, heh, B&Q were kind enough to offer a gesture, now everytime someone googles about cancelled orders and B&Q they will hit upon all the threads and websites etc talking about it and be inclined to fight.

Also, as a lot of people would like to buy me a beer for helping them, i wonder if I set up a justgiving page to the Air Ambulance so people can pop a fiver into the charity whether people would be warm to the idea. Just a way of expressing thanks and helping a good cause.....

Haven't voted as there's not an "I'm not quite sure yet, I'm waiting to see what happens with the others that have put their claims in already for the Argonaut" option ;)

You should get a vote for each tank/dishwaher ordered. :D
