How can people donate ?

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1795673

I posted this thread about making £500 for new TV so that people in my Local hospital can watch telly whilst having their Chemo therapy. Unfortunately the thread was locked. Does anyone have any ideas of how people could pay into something on line and do so confident with the fact that it is not some kind of scam. Clearly if I offered payl pal or a bank account then people may think that they were paying into a scam - well thats what people on the other thread thought anyway.
I owe many thanks to free-easy-money.com !

  • Hi Micro

Does the hospital have a "Friends of xyz hospital" - If so they may already be a registered charity and you might be able to link into that under something like Just Giving with the tele as a special project.

    Good luck

Mike is correct, if you're asking for funds for a registered charity then there are already tried and tested ways of donating the money, with an assurance that the money is going where people think it is.

And hospitals often do have Friends or similar groups who are raising funds, and are registered charities. So I'd start there.

  • Just Giving is very easy to use and it's free to set up an account. I have used Just Giving to set up a donation web page every year to raise funds for various charities.
  • yes just giving is very popular, but i recently got told about a local charity for a local boy used oodlescover.com I check out the website and its a simple concept. Personally feel its a fresh way to donate, especially if ur a small or local base charity/organisation.
