Current account with proper PDF statements

I am looking for a Currrent Account which does proper .pdf statements like American Express Credit Card issue.

They are exactly the same as the real paper statements and will really cut down on paper in the home.

I am with Halifax now and I tried online statements, and they are nothing like the real paper ones.

Any help appreciated with which Bank does this.

  • Nationwide does.

The online statements at Halifax are exactly like the ones they post out. And available as a PDF file.

In what way do you see them as being different?

Why do you care what format they come in? No-one's going to believe a printed .pdf is the actual paper statement.

It is actually fairly easy to make print-outs from home to look like the real documents these days. Not that I'm endorsing anything, but all you need is slightly thicker paper and a high quality printer.

I find PDF statements very handy. They are easy to download and store. They can be combined so that, for example, I can have one PDF containing the entire year's worth of Nationwide FlexAccount statements.

Really? I don't see any features on any of the paper statements I receive that would be difficult to reproduce from a pdf.

Fair comment. But my point really was that, unless I'm going to try and pretend my own printed copy is actually an original statement (and I certainly wouldn't want to try it and be caught out), I don't care what format my statements are in as long as they contain all the info and I have a copy saved on my hard disk.

When I get a satement I write on it what each non-obvious item is for (usually just cheques) then scan it.

In that way I have a record of everything that's happened on that account which is more informative than the original statment (makes my accountant very happy).

The originals I file and store just in case. I've not yet had to refer to them.
