Hi all - hope someone can help.
I have a BMW 316i and the main headlamp bulb has blown. I am a complete novice when it comes to cars and need some advice/help.
I would like to change the bulb myself. does anyone know which bulb i need (it is the main bulb that has gone). Also how do i get to the bulb - can i get in from the under the bonnet or will i have to remove the front?
Thanks

it's dead easy. Open bonnet, there should be a plastic cover on the back of the headlamp unit which'll turn and come off. There's a metal clip which retains the until in which it's likely a H7 bulb is mounted.
Don't touch the glass of the new one with your fingers.
Do buy a pair and replace both. It's good practice
In the United Kingdom 200,000 people are bitten by dogs every year and some people will die as a result. Of those bitten, 70% are children... So the question has to be asked....... Has the time come to ban children?0 -
Brilliant thanks for that!!!! Will give it a go tomorrow.
Thanks again
