If you'd rather avoid having to muck about with permissions, there may be another way to get at your old files. If you follow this guide to enable the super-secret administrator account - assuming your friend hasn't already done so - you should be able to access all your old stuff from there. All you need to do then is copy that stuff from your old account to your new one.
To whit: if your old user account (let's call it A) is in C:\Users\A\ whilst your new account (let's call itis in C:\Users\B\, you simply select everything inside A, copy it and paste it into B.
This is all theoretical of course, as I don't have a PC running Vista with which to test my ideas.0 -
I popped into PC World (while MSE was out of action yesterday) and from what the chap told me :0 I think it may me better if I let someone else do the fixing, I afraid of losing any stuff if I do the wrong thing!
