Has anyone ever purchased anything from this company, and did you have a satisfactory experience? Apologies if this is redundant but I did try the Search tool on this site but as usual nothing came up.
I'm thinking of using them but I can't seem to find any info on them...
If there is a website where I can check the reliability of mail order companies, if you could let me know I'd appreciate it.
Cheers.

My wife recently recieved an assortment of un-ordered items from Bright Lights together with a paid invoice. She phoned them and they insisted she must have ordered and paid for them on her credit card - she hadn't. They said someone would collect them.
Two weeks later a neighbour, with the same postcode, phoned to ask if we'd received a parcel from Bright Lights that she had ordered. She had phoned Bright Lights to locate her goods only to be told that my wife had used our neighbour's card to order the goods!
Avoid them like the plague!0 -

I used Brightlife-UK for past couple of years. I pay by crossed PO. Although early deliveries were reliable, more recent haven't. Products missing in parcels etc. Avoid products like the pampered pet water bed as too thin for dogs claws and simply bursts.
My last order was on March 9th 2010 for a freeview dongle which despite letters, has not been received; the last being a breach of contract letter to the MD all i;m receiving is more mini-catalogues advertising the dongle which suggests it's been in stock. Most of the products are not that well constructed. The weather station alarm clocks only show rain unless turn on dehumidifier. I have a Lexibook weather station which is reasonably accurate for a cheap home model. Do not order anything from this company. They do not respond to complaints. I am now taking it up with my local Trading Standards.0 -
Thanks for this.I was about to buy stuff from BRIGHT LIFE now I wont take the chance.0

I have been buying products from Bright-Life for about three years and never had a problem, I've only ever had one item that was poor quality and that was the Spell Checker which quite often returned a totally different word to the one I was checking, but apart from that all other items have been good value.0

Year and half old thread with negative reviews and then along comes a first time poster with a glowing review - you do the math .0 -
Their times and conditions bother me a little:You will own the product once it has been despatched by Dima to the addressee. Ownership of the product will therefore pass to you in Switzerland as the product is despatched in Switzerland and you or the addressee will be the importer of the product into the country of delivery.
So I own the goods in Switzerland, I have contracted with a second company and I am now importing goods from a non-EU country.Any charges made by Dima to you for the delivery services are included in the purchase price as set out in our catalogue, including any applicable postal costs. Notwithstanding the previous sentence, Dima has no control over any additional charges that may be incurred in connection with customs clearance regarding the product. You or the addressee are responsible for these charges, and for complying with all applicable European Union customs and trade regulations, however we will do whatever we can to assist you.
Import DUTY and VAT are on me then? Funny, because according to their customer services, it's on them and included in the £4.95. So which is it?Our liability to you in connection with any product supplied to you shall be limited to the cost of the product, save that nothing in these JDM Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence or for the tort of deceit.
So no consequential losses?0 -
I wish that I had checked this out earlier in the week, I had a brochure come in the weekly TV guide that we buy every week (Why do reputible companies get involved with these people?) and my wife thought that she would buy a couple of the dog beds that were on offer at a 50% reduction.
However despite entering the correct code as described in the brochure the discount was not applied, (surprise) after several calls to customer services (irony there?) I ended up talking to someone (in India I think) who said that they could not cancel the order or apply the discount retrospectively as it was already in the warehouse?.
The only thing to do was to refuse delivery by the courier and the order would be returned and my card credited (we'll see).
I rang my card company to make them fully aware so watch this space as they say!
Needless to say that this is the first and last time that I go near these people:mad:0 -
Like the previous post. I also ordered from Brightlife on 15.2.14 from a brochure inside a TV mag. Again in spite of usung the correct promo code I was charged the full amount. I have phoned and e-mailed customer services saying that I wanted to cancel the order. They have now said it is too late and the goods are on the way to me. I will now contact my credit card company. They are without a doubt the most unhelpful and possibly crooked company I have ever dealt with.0

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I expect a company called BrightLife UK to be based in the UK. Having spent a while perusing their website I am not much the wiser. And they seem to have a Columbia domain, not a UK one.

Lots of stuff in the T&C about Switzerland.
ASA don't think much of them:

JDM Marketing Ltd seem to be based in Aberdeen not Liverpool and have no company number on their own sparse website. If they are this company then they don't seem very substantial:

Wish I'd read this first. I have just placed an order and the email they promised hasn't arrived. Good job I bookmarked the page, I'm worried now.
Went back to the order page and it;s now saying no order was placed. Rang the bank and the payment has been authorised, so if I haven't placed an order why have they taken money. I told bank I thought it was a fraudulent company and they have put a block on my card. Also if the goods don;t arrive in 15 working days they will attempt to get refund on my behalf and if unsuccessful will refund me as it will then be fraud!0
