Of course i am happy i have been able to get DLA again but sad as i still have to come to terms with the fact that i am disabled and would do anything to be well and be able to live a normal life and go to work.

I know that feeling only too well, emily. I felt really down for a while when my award was increased a few months back, and even though it makes things easier for us in some ways, it was still that sadness that I needed to claim in the first place.

Glad to hear you got it sorted though :)

I am so glad to hear that other people have this reaction.

I cried when I was awarded high rate care .... I was on low rate and had asked for it to be increased to mid rate because of all the difficulties I was having. They increased it to high rate, and didn't even send a doctor out to see me.

I was gutted that they thought I was ill enough to receive HRC, and also for an indefinite period. It made me face the fact that I am disabled with a progressive condition that is unlikely to get better (and has in fact got worse since then).

I am really grateful for DLA as it does mean I can afford help that I wouldn't otherwise be able to afford, but I do so wish I could just have my health back :o

    That was quick.

My husbands is due for re-newal at the end of December and we got the forms today

I know you need to take your time in filling them in. As you need to get your information together but really don't think that it is going take us nearly 5 months. I know I can be a bit slow but :rotfl:

That is quick. Although they were quick when I first applied - only took 6 weeks.

I get HRM and MRC for an indefinate period. I cried when i got the letter too. For me it was seeing it in writing and the fact that someone else thinks i'm poorly too. BUT it does make our lives easier. So it's a necessary evil i guess.
