How can you find out if a postal order's been cashed ?

I'm posting here because I'm fed up with Royal Mail. I sent a letter on 03/04/06 to the bank asking for 6 years statements under the DPA with £ 10 P.O. It was sent recorded !st class. I've been checking the tracking number daily but it's still not delivered so lost ??? Anyway this made me wonder about the previous recorded delivery letter I sent on 30/03/06. The Royal Mail tracking site says that hasn't been delivered yet either EXCEPT I got a response for that letter 20 minutes ago ( post just arrived ).
So Royal Mail say tracking only happens after delivery. Yet the earlier 'delivered' letter wrongly shows up as not having been delivered ( something to do with not scanning the barcode by mistake ). Anyway because of that I really don't know if the bank letter has been delivered or not ( site says not ) and I don't want to ring them so ..... how do I check to see if the £ 10.00 postal order has been cashed or not ?

if you have kept the counterfoil go into your local PO and they can check it for you

Dont use recorded post, simple as!! DH used to be a postie and he said recorded letters can go anywhere til they get delivered as they arent tracked until delivered. Always use special delivery, slightly more expensive but always guarenteed to get there.

I bought a top on ebay over a month or so ago and still to this day the tracking site says not delivered!!! Gawd knows where its ended up!!!
