As far as I know, owing to EU rulings ther will be no Windows 7 upgrades available in Europe. You will get a disc allowing you to do a clean install nothing else. Something to with Internet Explorer bundling and browser competition.
Sorry forgot second half of your question. Hopefully you may have been supplied a driver disc which will be compatible with 7, failing that I'm sure the manufacturer will make an easy web based option available. That is of course when you've installed a browser."Hey, if love is blind, how come lingerie is so popular?" Cochrane. P673 TNG.0 -
You'll have to ensure you have all of your program installation discs/files and you'll need to ensure you back up all of your personal files, folders, emails etc because it will require a clean installation.0

Chances are you wont be getting a clean disc anyway, you'll be getting a new version of your manufactuer's recovery disc, so you stick it on and your PC is return as when you bought it except it has win7 not vista. so no messing about with drivers.
chances are, IE8 will be preinstalled by your manufacturer and if not its highly likley to be on windows update.
Well thats what I would do anyway, I cant see manufacturers just pushing clean copies of win7 retail at consumers, but if that does happen you only really 'need' the network card driver, windows update will handel (almost) everything else for you. rest just see their website.
in any case just backup whatever you install onto it and personal files etc.0
