Recieved an email the other day just for information purposes:
Maximum Tuition Fees Chargeable: £3,290 (a 2.04% rise)
Maximum Tuition Loan: £3,290
Maintenance - NO CHANGE
I was not happy when I saw this. They raise the tuition fees but not maintenance! I can understand them not raising maintenance but the same rules should apply to tuition imo.
They suspect new applications won't be open before November.... (lol November, it will end up being Feb/March again)

Maintenance (A K A the loan for living costs), the Maintenance Grant,
the Special Support Grant, or targeted support (Childcare Grant, Adult
Dependants' Grant, Parents' Learning Allowance, Disabled Student's

The maximum amounts and thresholds for these grants, allowances and
loans will be maintained at 2009/10 levels.

Damn you, you got all this information before I did.
I can discuss this over champagne when I stroll into the office Monday morning though.0 -
expect there won't be any protests though so the govt can carry on doing as it pleases.hardly any students even sign up for the petitions highlighted on here so they can't really complain.0

means the system is slowly moving back to the dark ages when only those who can afford it will receive a Uni education....plus the fact there's a recession and those with degrees that require training contracts (law) or woring in industry for a year (engineering etc) may not be able to get work in the immediate future....
looks like there will be a drop in the numbers going to Uni in future years...again...making it more elitistI'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0 -

bizarre whatever does this mean?
it used to be the case that the poor had full grants and no fees... so going back would be good for them
also the recession affects everyone .. not just lawyers and engineers.. you know people like shop assistants, care workers , factory workers etc etc0
