Hi,
I don't know how frequent this situation is but I've been on the unfortunate end of the Seller's immoral way of doing business. I saw a place I really liked and offered 15k below the asking price. Offer was accepted. I initiated the process of making the mortgage application which was then pushed through. Then the Seller said that people who made an offer before (they were rejected at that time) then made another offer 10k higher than the price agreed with myself and the seller. I was quite frankly angry about this, but just to keep myself in the game I countered with the asking price. That new offer was accepted. However, the surveyor valued the property at the value of 15k below asking price (as that was the motgage application which was accepted from the initial offer) - still with me? Well anyway.... not sure what to do at this point - and whether I can use the valuation report as a negotiation tool for rendering the property 15k below asking price. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
J
