Parcelforce clearly just lied, can i do anything?

Iv taken a day off work to await a delivery of a parcel for items i brought online. I paid extra for saturday delivery.

So today i log into parcelforce to see the status and it say at 11:30 they attempted a delivery, this is clearly a big fat lie as iv been home all day,no van has driven up here and there is no card!

on top of this i phone up, the guy says hes going to phone the driver and phone back, i wait 20 minutes, phone again and the call centre is closed!

Is there anything i can do about this, i paid extra for the service?

Ask if they have GPRS tracking on the palm. It will tell them if they were at your property.

The couriers we use ( DPD and City-link) will make a note of the front door they went to, ask them what colour the door was they left the card at sometimes they are wrong !

Aye the last one that did that said it was a brown door (as is ours), sure enough it was but it was house half a mile away. Not foolproof method.

We've had the same thing happen a few weeks ago. The parcel turned up the next delivery day. We live in a pretty remote place though, so most likely the driver couldn't be arsed to go out of his way on the original delivery day.
