credit card charges

i have 2 credit cards which due 2 me being off work with serious knee injury i've struggled with the payments and as a result the card companies havepast on the debt to a collection agency. can i still claim the charges back? if so how long does it take? (mint card and capital one)

Depends how quickly they respond to you to be honest.
Do you have all your charges for the last 6 years?

not yet but i'll be seding a letter off today. how long do they have to reply to my letter. do they usually take it to court or are justpaying out?

the first letter to get a list of the charges, the credit card company have 40 straight days from receipt of the request(make sure you include the £10 fee for the info or it could delay it)
