Hi
A while ago I received a ticket from LPS Ltd. re parking. I have ignored their letters and today I received a letter from Brethertons Solicitors Recovery Dept.
It refers to the outstanding debt and
" Unless payment is discharged in full within three working days proceedings will be instigated against you. These proceedings will include additional claims for interest and legal costs resulting from your prior failure to make payment."
Do I sit tight?
Thanls

Could you post a copy of the letter for others to peruse, remove all personal details and any identifying serial numbers etc. Chances are they have couched it in ""mays" and "coulds"I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Hi
I wasn't able to upload/ download the letter but below is the content - No "mays" or "could" but will!
thanks
Local Parking Security Ltd - £50.00
We refer to our recent letter requesting payment of an outstanding debt in the sum of £50.00.
Payment of the amount due has not been made within the period specified. Accordingly, the purpose of this letter is to advise you that unless payment of your account is discharged in full within three working days from the date hereof, proceedings will be instigated against you. Those proceedings will include additional claims for interest and legal costs resulting from your prior failure to make payment.
Please make cheques payable to Local Parking Security Ltd and send to this office.0 -
By no means sit tight!! Have a look on the website tpuc (The Peoples United Community). It makes some very interesting reading, and also how and why many of these parking charges are illegal. Good luck !!0

Just had a look at the site above, they make an effort on the forums to say they do Not offer legal advice so use with care.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Hi all
I have just finished the L.P.S & Brethertons merry-go-round. Just ignore all their letters. Nothing will happen.
I had 3 letters from LPS and 2 from Brethertons each one warning of the dire consequences of ignoring them.
The letters can be quite scary but hold your nerve and it will eventually stop. :j0 -

Great to hear that, we know that these threats fizzle out but newbies often wonder what happened in the end when they don't see the OP come back to post again.
It would be really helpful if you could sometime soon please find time to add to the board's Hall of Shame thread showing the debt collector letter-chain for LPS here:

If you don't have a scanner then close up digital photos of the ticket and letters would be great. As per other examples, blank out dates, location, refs, name/address, car ID and any payment slip with barcode before posting the images.
Thanks, why not go park there again now?!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
