i like a drink when i go out and so does OH, but she only has like 1 malibu n coke. acht, its no bother not drinkin tho

I might be going completely against the flow here....and to be honest, saying this doesn't sit well with me.....

But if he is FINALLY taking you out, maybe let him win the driving argument (just this once mind). Sort of like how you reward and encourage the good behaviour in a child rather than punish the negative?

He should bleeding well offer to drive...but him taking you out in the first place is progress, so maybe reward the baby step he has taken, rather than take issue over the giant leap towards being a decent boyfriend he still needs to make? Next time he takes you out (cos based on this theory, he will want to again... ), then make sure the sh*thead drives.

Or am I just showing how much of a mug I can be? :rotfl:

I like to have a bottle of wine if I'm out for the whole night - but at least 2 or 3 drinks and it will probably be the only time we go out all year so I am definitely have a drink!! He won't go somewhere and not have a drink - very stuck in the socialising rules of the 1970s still I'm afraid.

The conversation was finished with 'well, I suppose we are just going to walk in there, eat, walk out again. I don't suppose they'll want us taking a table up all night'.

Me......smiling sweetly down the phone through gritted teeth: 'It's Sunday - it will be quiet - we will be able to sit there all night if we want to'........
