I've said until I'm blue in the face about going out - even for a couple of beers - many times and it became such a broken record, I have all but given up.

He brought around a leaflet weeks ago for one of the chinese buffet places in Poole - all nights and lunches half price until 8 July - ie tomorrow night - 5.50 per person. A few nights ago, I said we should go out before it runs out - perhaps tomorrow and he started with 'well, I am out Saturday - i won't be up to going out Sunday, they will have another offer another time, why should I be going out just because you say so etc etc etc'.............I gave up - again

grrrr - could you not send him home for a couple of weeks and say you need space? might make him think about what a relationship means cos he seems more like a lodger at the mo, flatmates are generally more sociable!

BB, I would say to him that a relationship has to involve give and take - if he wants lifts/free lodgings/free meals (okay, he contributes a tiny bit towards those), then by all means give him that IF he is giving you what you need too.

There's nothing wrong with making sacrifices for each other.....if you are BOTH doing it.

In the meantime, stop feeling guilty, get another Pimms and spin another 80's YouTube tune, DJ lady! :D
