Sammy - just watched that come dine with me, she wound me up...I'd have chucked her out......so no inviting you mum round to mine :D

Pap - Sorry to hear you've had to rehome Oli - my elder cat took a good few months to get used to the younger one, they do cope eventually.

As for friends, I think this is why I don't have many, I'm so unsociable that most of my friends have vanished over the years. We've just had to try and drop a "couple" that we met years ago, we're in different circles now, they're aware of our financial situation, but he's a company director and his bonuses are about 10 times DH's years wage, we can't keep up and I'm sick of having to explain every time why we can't afford to "make a weekend of it" or "just pop over to spain" for a long weekend.

My best friend and I met at anti-natal classes when we both arrived late and got told off.....we sat at the back giggling and making silly faces at the midwife.....14 years later we still see each other a couple of times a week.

I went to throw a dishcloth at the washing basket earlier and managed to whack my hand on the edge of the work top.....it bruised straight away...was it wrong to use it to my advantage and declare it was too sore to cook dinner? ;)
