I'd never heard of a Dutch oven, I've had a google for Dutch oven recipes and it just seems like a slow cooker for the oven, so I think most slow cooker recipes would work. Either that or get yourself some hot coals, a guitar and sing "ging gang gooley" around the campfire :)

I remember doing something like this back in 1973 ish when we had all the power-cuts and the country was on a three day week.
You had to make the casserole as hot as you could before the power went off then bunged it in either a big cardboard box filled with hay or scrunched up newspapers. It did eventually cook but it was usually done one day to eat the next. Bit of a pain with all that mess and hay ect.My two children thought Mum had lost the plot for a while though:D

I make my rissotto in mine. I can't be doing with all that stir, add a bit of water nonsense so I just lob all the ingredients into the Dutch oven, put it on a slow heat and by the time I have done my housework (or posted on here) and everyone is home, it is beautifully done.
