I have a 2001 golf which had a chip in the windscreen that couldnt be repaired. I have had the windscreen replaced today but the fitter has taken the screws out of the plastic strip below the windscreen and has not replaced them.when he put it back on. Just wondering if there is anywhere I can buy 4 of these little screws?

They should only cost a few pence from the dealer or you could try your local GSF (German, Swedish and French) shop.

Thanks for the quick replies, as I'm going shopping tomorrow was wondering if Halfords or the like would sell them. I am a bit worried if it could cause any damage to the new windscreen left unsecured so my husband has found a small screw to put in there for now to hold it but will see what i can find tonorrow

Unfortunately I think he left the screws on the side when you open the bonnet and as i have driven the car last night the screws have now disappeared and would be like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to find them as in theory they are on the road somewhere. Think I will give them a quick ring though just to see what they say

Agree with this post, he lost them, he should replace them and fit them.

I spoke to the man who fitted it this morning and he said that he doesnt bother putting them back in as they aren't needed, but if i wanted him to he would come back and put them back in for me

Of course they are " needed " VW wouldn't have bothered installing them in the first place if they were not.

    I would get him back.
