To disconnet gas cooker and reconnect

I have been quoted £55+ vat to disconnect a range cooker and then to reconnect another £55 + vat after the kitchen some work being done to the kitchen. More than £110 seems a bit much to me. I guess, he has to make two visits and he is charging for that. Thanks

you should have a bayonet fit gas socket on the wall.
the flexible pipe from the cooker just fits into it like a light bulb. ie push & twist.

and the pipe end looks like this,

as long as both cookers have the pipes attached, then its nearly as simple as changing a light bulb.
    Get some gorm.

The past rangecookers we have fitted do not come with a flex. This has to be fitted,A chain must also be fitted to stop you breaking/bending the pipe or its seals

£55+vat is the average price, Its more work than just uplugging and re-fitting

Most workmen will have a minimum call-out charge - you have to pay for the fact that they've got to get to your house, spend the time there etc. Round my way £55 is a fairly standard price to pay for an hour of a corgi man's time.
