My brother has just been into HSBC to open a 8% regular saver. Person said it would be no problem but from now on you have to take out a HSBC credit card when opening the savings account?!
Has anyone else heard of this and is it legal for them to force someone to take out a credit card??
Person did say that you can cut up the credit card once you get it!

Sounds wrong .. I bet that person gets comission for signing up credits cards ..0

I think this 'person' deserves a complaint ...Available only to customers who have their monthly salary or retirement income paid to an HSBC Bank current account.

Thats what I thought aswell, didnt think you could force someone to take out a credit card when applying for a savings account!!
Think a letter to the bank is in order, looking forward to what they say!0
