A few times recently the sound card has locked up the computer, stuttering on a single sound sample. It's a Dell Desktop with a built in Sigmatel sound card.

This caused windows to fail to start properly.
Something to do with
vct3216.acm

I've googled this and it's something to do with "Voxware Compression Toolkit".

I've got the latest drivers running.

I've temporarily renamed the problem file to see if anything complains about it.

I don't really know enough about all of this. Is the card OK? Is the problem a codec thing? Can I bin it?
Happy chappy
