wireless keyboard & mouse problem

hello all.

i bought a wireless keyboard and mouse and it won't work with my comp. i know that it isn't faulty because i tested it on a laptop and another system and it worked fine. i'm guessing it could be a usb issue, because the system it doesnt work on doesnt have any usb 2.0 ports, and the computers it works on do.

is this why it won't work? it can be plugged into either a usb port or it can use the mouse and keyboard ps2 ports, but neither way works. if i was to get a usb 2.0 hub would this help me?

Have you got an installation cd, have you checked the manufactures website for uptodate drivers?

i have a cd but i think its only to install additional crap like hotkeys etc. i didnt install anything on the other systems and it worked straight away. theyre both running xp sp2.
