I paid £350 for someone to plaster my kitchen which is 12ft by 18ft
and he told me my living room which is 12ft by 20ft will be the same
Do plasterers charge one price per room because my daughters bedroom is only 11ft by 7ft and i think £350 is a bit steep for that size considering the size of my kitchen and living room

Hi Poggie glad you found the pic's of use.

As you can see by the many replies to your post prices variey on tradesman and area I myself am based in Manchester.

I am sorry but I would prefer not to get into the pricing of work as this seems just to go round in circles on the board.

    All I will say is.

"I price many a job, only to be told by the customer that they have had cheaper quotes, this does put my back up slightly, as if the aim of the game was to be the cheapest around. That would be easy."

I provide a service and take pride in what I do after 20 years I still get a buzz out of someone telling me they are really pleased with there newly plastered walls and returning months later to do there next room and seeing the first one decorated is great.

Allways happy to help out and give advice to anyone wanting to do there own plastering and intend to add more pics if this would help people on here.

    You are right
Cheapest does not mean you are going to get the same quality of the work
I paid £350 and it was a fantastic job i could of got cheaper but they were reccomended to me from a retired plasterer and he said he was really good
I would rather have workmen who do a fantastic job and cost a bit more than have someone come round and it costs less but its a really bad job
We have had workmen in the past and paid a lot of money and bad work so now i try and ask others to reccomend someone because then they know because they have used them and know what their work is like no matter what the cost
It makes my blood boil to pay a lot of money out and the work is not up to scratch
You have to be so careful of people trying to rip you off and bogus workmen thats why i have a book of local builders etc who i know are good
