if only life were that easy, i live in a private rented hosue with my son and it is part of my tenancy agreement i have no other people in the house other night for any lenght of period without giving prior notice to my ll and getting writen permission from him.
I'd ignore that and take her in till she gets herself sorted. She's only 16 !! The alternative is having her wandering the streets homeless. Even if your landlord finds out they must see that this is a vunerable young girl with no options at the moment and a temporary arrangement. If it was me and my sister.. got to say I'd definately say stuff the tenancy agreement here.
Get back onto the council/Shelter and whoever can offer help, and DON'T tell them she's staying with you. They'll shove her down a list somewhere otherwise as not a priority. She needs to tell them her arrangements for private rental has not worked out.. ( the person she was going to be renting from sounds really dodgy anyway )...and that she's effectively homeless.
Good luck. What a horrible situation. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0
